Poets Cynthia Manick and zakia hendersen-brown
Cynthia Manick is the author of Blue Hallelujahs (Black Lawrence Press, 2016). A Pushcart Prize nominated poet with a MFA in Creative Writing from the New School. She has received fellowships from Cave Canem, the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, Hedgebrook, and Poets House. She serves as East Coast Editor of Jamii Publishing and is Founder of the reading series Soul Sister Revue. Her poem Things I Carry Into the World was recently made into a short film by Motionpoems, an organization dedicated to video poetry. Her work has also appeared in the Academy of American Poets' Poem-A-Day Series, African American Review, Bone Bouquet, Callaloo, Kweli Journal, Muzzle Magazine, Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
zakia henderson-brown is a Pushcart-nominated 2016 Poets House Emerging Poets Fellow and has received additional fellowships and scholarships from the Fine Arts Work Center, Callaloo, and Cave Canem. Her poems have appeared in African American Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, North American Review, Vinyl, and others. She currently serves as Associate Editor at nonprofit publisher The New Press, and on the board of the Brooklyn Movement Center. She lives in her native Brooklyn with fur ball Onyx.

AKaiser curates this tri-annual poetry series with Station Independent Projects and, in spring 2016, curated a multi-lingual poetry reading at Vintage Works in Barcelona which included Mark Doty, Catalan poets, Francesc Parcerisas and Antoni Clapés, herself, and translator Dolors Urdina. Along with her friend poets of the poetry collective, Sweet Action (http://sweetactionpoetry.com), she contributed work to the chapbook, Sunken Paths, which was donated to the Standing Rock benefit in Boston this past December.
