Craft and Self in Poetic Forms with Cynthia Manick
The “I” contains multitudes but what does that mean exactly? To write about multitudes when the body is a frequency of flesh and heart? As people, we are nesting dolls of sisters, brothers, wives, lovers, and more. We are layers upon layers and in each layer, a poem is waiting to be written. In this class, we will use confessional, profile, praise, and the direct address form to explore the way “self” can emerge on the page.
