Maya Angelou said “my mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” In this Poetry circle, we’ll discover poems and styles from Lucille Clifton, Ariana Brown, Chen Chen, Ross Gay, Mahogany Browne, and more, to see how they bring “light” to the page, from humor, to joy, to even a cackle. Each session we’ll do a deep dive on 2 to 3 poems, discover prompts, and then write together.
